“The Big Dipper” Wilt Chamberlain scored over 3000 points his rookie season on his way to becoming the most dominating player in NBA history. This 1961 Fleer (#8) card has the pleasure of being his rookie card. It is undoubtedly, “pack fresh” with a near-impossible MINT 9 grade by PSA. This rookie is one that belongs in any sports enthusiast’s collection. www.AmericanMemorabilia.com

American Memorabilia Sports Auction ends November 4th, 2011 at 8PM PST 15 minute rule, features this never offered before Ohio State championship ring.

Ohio State University Buckeyes, head coach Woody Hayes recruited Tatum as a running back, but assistant coach Lou Holtz convinced Hayes to switch Tatum to defensive running back.

Tatum helped lead the Buckeyes to a 27-2 record in his three seasons as a starter, with two national championship appearances and one national championship win in 1968, Tatum’s first season with the team. And in the storied rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan, Tatum and his fellow Buckeyes won in 1968 by the score of 50-14. Tatum was a first-team All-Big Ten in 1968.

Tatum was inducted into the Ohio State Varsity O Hall of Fame in 1981 and into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005. In 2001, Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel instituted the “Jack Tatum Hit of the Week Award,” given to the player who had the most impressive defensive hit of the game.

Important and significance this ring symbolizes Jack’s outstanding football career, and legacy. Incredibly scarce, Ohio State Rings, are almost non-existant, as typical owners never sell them. This is a wonderfully rare and exceptional opportunity that the family is actually offering this ring up for sale for Jack’s fans, and Ohio State fans to appreciate.

In 1968 under the direction of head coach Woody Hayes, Ohio State claimed its fifth of seven National Championships. This 28 gram (1 ounce) 10K gold, size 10-11 ring commemorates that championship.

“OHIO” is embossed diagonally in gold lettering on an oval ruby red stone on the top of the ring. Around that is cast in bold lettering “NATIONAL CHAMPIONS”. On the right panel the championship year “1968” is cast over an image of a football, while “OHIO STATE” is cast above a depiction of the Buckeyes’ Ohio Stadium on the left panel.

On the inside right side of the ring is the manufacturer’s name “JOSTENS” with a “10K”, and ”Jack Tatum” is engraved on the inside.

“Never Say Never”. Miracles do occur and you can actually own this original 2001 New England Patriots Super Bowl ring. The ring has the exact specifications as the players rings…Tom Brady (who was third on the depth chart at the start of the season), Troy Brown, Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy. And yes, even the poncho-clad Bill Belichick added one of these to his ring finger.

This is the most expensive Super Bowl ring made up until this point. Directly from a front office staff member – Sean Coogan, the diamond studded Championship ring has been preserved with the original box which was given to staff members (not the same as player’s boxes).

Few rings have surfaced and anything from the Patriots is hot, hot, hot and super desirable. Not only is the value in the “bling”, but iit is in the scaricity.

One of the shank shows his name COOGAN with a helmet logo and record (14-5) with STAFF TEAM also shown.

Other shank has 2001 XXVI with a central Lombardi Trophy U.S.A. with the teams/score PATS 20 – RAMS 17.

14K White Gold which is embossed into the interior of the band by the copyright Jostens 14K mark. Mint condition.

Weight: Monster ring 67.1 grams (2.37 ounces of solid 14k) (2.16 Troy ounces)

Size: 10-101/4

Diamonds: over 130 Round Brilliant Diamonds and 2 approx. .50-.75 ct. Marquis 2 Baguettes approx. .20 ct.

Comes directly from Mr. Coogan.

There is nothing quite like the thrill of holding a Babe Ruth bat in one’s hands, and this is a scarce early example dating to the era of the New York Yankees’ first World Championship season of 1923. This Hillerich & Bradsby “125″ Louisville Slugger exhibits excellent use with cleat marks and swelling evident from big hitting along the barrell of the bat. Ruthian in appearence, this bat is incredibly attractive, and is made of professional grade white ash wood and features a medium brown patina adding even further to the aura of the bat. View the item.

Importantly, the centerbrand and barrell stampings remain prominent – the Babe’s signature is incredibly bold and clear for all to see. The 1922-25 period is indicated by a relatively small difference in the lettering font and positioning within the centerbrand. This bat may have been used during the very first Yankee Championship season of 1923! and during the very height of Ruth’s career.

Factory records of the 1920s are incomplete with regard to Ruth bat orders, with the lengths and weights of many orders not recorded. At a length of thirty four inches and weight of thirty four ounces, this bat certainly falls in the acceptable range. While it is currently believed bats of thirty-five or thirty-six inches in length were more commonly used by Ruth, Ruth is quoted in an article on batting that he did use bats a little shorter as well, and there is record of Ruth ordering approximate thirty-four inch bats, and record of thirty-four ounces. The knob appears to have a slight chip, and there is a slight horizontal grain separation along a few inches of the barrell, which is pictured, and is likely the result of heavy hitting, adding to the phenomenal game use of the bat.

This bat is accompanied by a Full Letter by MEARS, detailing the specifications and use of the bat, refer to posted letter at left. A key artifact from the beginning of the New York Yankee’s reign as baseball’s most noteworthy franchise.

American Memorabilia is now offering the missing trunks from the 1964 Cassius Clay fight.

n order to get the full impact of the phenomanal significance of Sonny Liston’s 1964 Fight Worn shorts lets be introduced to all the players in the events that transpired the night of his “murder” and the night the trunks would be handed to a young football star.

Bruce Eric Gray-UNLV MIddle Line-backer Football player 1968-71. 1968 first year of football in Southern Nevada- Inducted into the UNLV football HOF-2008. UNLV record holder: Most Hits that caused the most fumbles in that season. UNLV Booster Sponsee of Davey Pearl.

Davey Pearl- Sonny Liston’s Friend and Unofficial Manager, Boxing Referree, Pearl did a lot for Las Vegas. It was Davey, then UNLV Assistant Athletic Director, in 1973 that talked Californias Jerry Tarkanian into coaching the UNLV Rebels. In 1997 Pearl was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame. UNLV Booster.

Davey Pearl hooked up with then UNLV Star Football Linebacker Bruce Eric Gray in 1968. This was Bruce’s rookie year. Boosters always help football players and Pearl was Bruce Eric Gray’s mentor. Being a star athlete Pearl liked to be with the stars and Gray was the “it” kid of the season. Pearl referreed all the big fights and Gray was always with him.

“I met Sonny Liston in 1968-69 and I would watch him train.” Bruce Gray was into boxing because his Uncle,Wayman Dawson, was a boxer who was managed by Billy Conn.

“I will never forget that night” Gray reminisces “I was a Junior at UNLV. Pearl came to the dorm and knocked on my door and asked if i wanted to go to Liston’s house.”

Pearl emphatically stated “Let’s get Sonny’s things now because they are going to lock the house.”

They got to the house, and the 19 year old football star, didn’t have the stomach for what he was about to see. Sonny’s House was still marked with crime scene tape. Chalk marks still remained telling the tale of Sonny’s last breath. Pearl knew that Gray was scared, and told Bruce to go into the Sonny’s special Boxing room. Here was the treasure trove of Liston’s historical career.

Bruce Eric Gray began to shovel all the boxing paraphenial into two of Liston’s trunks. ”I just told Pearl I wanted to get the boxing gear and I didn’t want the rings etc.” Obviously, in hind sight, Gray wishes he grabbed those too. Davy Pearl told Gray that night ” I told Sonny to pay those people their money. He owed gambling debts to the mob. This was no accident. “

Gray continues “Then Davy told me to take what I wanted and said ”Hey Kid since you want all the boxing trunks, keep ‘em. because they are all from his fights. They may be worth something. It may come to help you some day.” Lo and behold that statement has come to fruition.

Gray remembers ridding of the two trunks and getting a suitcase to neatly fold all Liston’s memories. All the articles remained with Bruce Eric Gray. Gray game one robe to Otis Allison, from the Lakers and another was given to Nathaniel Hawkins-Pittsburgh Steeler/Houston Oilers. The relicss were slowly given away to different people at different times. However, all the shorts were placed in a bag inside my football trunk and have been in there until now.

Sonny Liston’s trunks are without question the ones he wore in the 1964 fight against Muhammad Ali. That day both Muhammad and Sonny wore white Everlast satin’s. Sonny, to ensure that the world knew who he was made sure that his name was embroidered on his left bottom leg. The script is very distinct. This embroidery is exactly matched by the photo. The slight swinging up of the “S” and the long swoop of the “L”, cannot be mistaken. Creamy white, the satin has aged and toned naturally. The crotch is well worn with sweat and use. Small black stains remain on the back of the short. The Everlast satin logo is still in tact, with the top seam slightly unraveling and is aged and faded. Undoubtedly one of the greatest fights in boxing history. Short length and stripe size correct. See the photo match of the trunks with the exact script unquestionably from this fight. Mr. Gray will be attesting to this story and documenting the facts in a notarized letter. The 1964 Fight Featuring the White Everlast Trunks.
